Co-Founders Vivien Goh and Iris Wang highlight importance of BDM transformation in forecasted US$378 billion Asia-Pacific legal market

NANNING, China – 11 September 2025 – Elevare Asia addressed legal leaders on the critical need for Business Development & Marketing (BDM) Transformation at the recently concluded ASEAN LEGAL ALLIANCE (ALA) Internal Meeting.

In her presentation, Elevare Co-Founder & Director Vivien Goh discussed how professional services and law firms must adopt a structured approach to BDM, blending global best practices with an Asia-relevant strategy to compete effectively.

The discussion comes as the Asia-Pacific legal market is projected to expand from US$247.5 billion in 2024 to US$378 billion by 2030. Despite this growth, firms face intense competition, market fragmentation, and regulatory complexity. Elevare highlighted that traditional, relationship-only growth models are no longer sufficient to ensure sustainable success.

“Asian law firms have deep local expertise, but the market is changing. A reputation built only on relationships won’t cut it anymore,” said Vivien Goh, Co-Founder & Director of Elevare Asia. “To compete effectively, firms must adopt a structured BDM approach, leveraging data and structured engagement to build resilience and capture the immense opportunity in this market. Firms that transform their BDM strategy will be the ones who win and retain more clients.”

Vivien’s presentation outlined three core pillars for a successful BDM transformation:

1. Visibility: Building trust through a strong, credible digital presence and publishing timely, practical thought leadership.

2. Modern Engagement: Deepening client loyalty and “stickiness” through structured client listening programs, strategic cross-selling across practice areas, and proactive panel management.

3. Data-Driven Growth: Unlocking efficiencies and insights by leveraging CRM systems and automation to reduce administrative burdens, sharpen client targeting, and improve ROI.

During the ALA meeting, Vivien presented and moderated a panel discussion where she was joined by Iris Wang, Co-Founder & Director of Elevare Asia. The panel dived deeper on the three core pillars and the discussion sparked significant interest from the audience. Attendees engaged in a robust discussion, raising questions on the practical details of how BDM strategies can be implemented to improve client targeting and drive revenue growth.
